Mare Island Brewing Co.’s Coal Shed Brewery, located on Mare Island in Vallejo, CA on the banks of the Napa River, is currently seeking a passionate, efficient and friendly Floor Manager to join our management team. Voted ‘Best of Vallejo’ 2017, 2018 and 2019, we pride ourselves on embodying the rich history of Mare Island, serving up delicious craft brews paired with seasonally unique food offerings while being the local watering hole that our community has embraced. As part of our management team, the Floor Manager will work directly with the Food & Beverage Manager while also working directly with the public and our friendly, close-knit staff.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $48,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year

The position would be full-time, scheduled for (and with an expectation to work) 40+ hours per week, and classified as “non-exempt,” with overtime compensation. Competitive hourly compensation, this position also includes:

Responsibilities Include (but not limited to):

  • Ensuring customer satisfaction with every visit
  • Maintaining strict cleanliness and physical appearance of facility
  • Ensuring all front of house side work and tasks are completed daily
  • Oversee front of house training and working with Food & Beverage Manager for disciplinary action
  • Covering floor shifts when needed
  • Mitigate and resolve any guest or staff issue that may arise
  • Control liabilities such as underage drinking, over consumption and guest/staff safety
  • Ensuring staff has updated knowledge of procedures, product and company history though training and testing
  • Ensuring all required staff certificates and documents are up to date
  • Weekly meetings with Food & Beverage Manager

  • Comfortable in high stress, fast pace environment
  • Ability to lead and manage staff
  • Knowledge of craft beer
  • Knowledge of food and food safety
  • Prior management experience preferred
  • 40+ hours a week, nights and weekends required
