Mare Island Brewing Co., a small-but-rapidly-growing brewery on Mare Island in Vallejo with three taprooms and wholesale self-distribution throughout the Bay area, seeks a motivated Outside Account Representative. Position Overview:

As an Outside Account Representative (OAR), you will be responsible for driving sales growth and brand awareness within the SF territory. This role requires a proactive and entrepreneurial mindset, as you will be tasked with identifying and pursuing new business opportunities while maintaining and nurturing existing relationships with our valued customers. Your ability to think creatively and strategically will be instrumental in achieving our sales objectives and elevating our brand presence in the market. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to achieve and exceed sales targets within the assigned territory.
  • Maintain current account relationships within the territory.
  • Identify and pursue new sales opportunities through prospecting, cold calling, networking, and relationship building.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with key accounts, including bars, restaurants, retailers, and distributors, to drive brand loyalty and maximize sales potential.
  • Conduct product presentations and tastings to educate customers and drive enthusiasm for our beer portfolio.
  • Collaborate closely with the marketing team to execute promotional events, tastings, and other marketing initiatives.
  • Provide regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and competitor activities to inform decision-making and strategy development.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred (but not required)
  • Knowledge of the East Bay market and existing relationships within the local beer industry is a plus
  • Proven track record of success in outside sales, preferably within the beverage or hospitality industry.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented with a strong drive to achieve and exceed sales targets.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with diverse stakeholders.
  • Creative thinker with the ability to develop innovative sales strategies and solutions.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
